Subarna Guha is an Odissi dancer and the President of Nritya Kalashetra Company, an organization she founded in 2024 to promote and preserve the Indian classical dance form of Odissi in the Treasure Valley, USA. Her journey in Odissi began with 11 years of training under Guru Nityanand Senapati. After moving to Germany and then the USA, she continued her involvement in dance by choreographing and teaching folk and fusion dances to children in the community. In 2017, she resumed her formal Odissi training under the mentorship of Guru Dr. Smt Aparuapa Chaterjee of the SRJAN repertory. Based in Boise, Idaho, Guha is dedicated to being an ambassador for Odissi dance, aiming to bring this elegant art form to a wider audience. In June 2023, she co-organized "Ganga to Kaveri," a significant Indian cultural dance event in Boise, which featured performances by artists from across the country and India, including her guru Aparupa Chatterjee. Through Nritya Kalashetra Company, she seeks to educate, promote, and preserve Odissi through teaching, concerts, recitals, lecture-demonstrations, and creative collaborations.
