Sudha Peethambaran is a prominent Indian classical dancer, primarily known for Mohiniyattam. She began her classical dance training at the age of five under Guru Kalamandalam Mohana Thulasi, learning Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. Initially, Kuchipudi was her main area of interest, but after establishing Sree Sankara School of Dance, she shifted her focus to Mohiniyattam for performances. She further specialized in Mohiniyattam under Kalamandalam Kshemavathy and continues to train under Dr. (Prof) C.P. Unnikrishnan and Padmasree Awardee Kalamandalam Kshemavathy. Peethambaran holds a National Scholarship in Mohiniyattam from the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. She is an 'A' Grade Artiste with Doordarshan, Thiruvananthapuram, and a Reference Panel Artiste for the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and IRCEN, New Delhi. In 1993, she co-founded the Sree Sankara School of Dance in Kalady with her husband, Prof. P.V. Peethambaran, where she serves as the Director and Chief Guru, supervising the training of approximately 1000 students annually across 18 centers. As a choreographer, her work often addresses contemporary social issues and propagates the teachings of spiritual reformers like Adi Sankaracharya and Sree Narayana Guru, notably through mega productions such as 'Sankaram Loka Sankaram' and 'Gurudeva Charitam'. She is also the Chief Dance Co-ordinator of the National Sree Sankara Dance & Music Festival, which was elevated to the International Sree Sankara Dance & Music Festival in 2017.
