Smt Sujatha Sathees is a prominent figure in Indian classical dance, specifically Bharatanatyam, based in the United Kingdom. She commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the tender age of four, completing her tutelage and graduating in the esteemed Kalakshetra style under the guidance of Guru Selvi Ambikai Seevaratnam. Sujatha Sathees has dedicated many years to teaching Bharatanatyam across the UK. Her teaching career includes roles at the Lewisham London Sivan Temple Tamil School, MFALA Birmingham, Navalar Tamil School, Luton Tamil School, and KalaiKovil (school of dance in Coventry). In 2004, she founded the School of Bharathakala, an institution dedicated to promoting Bharatanatyam in the Kalakshetra style. The school aims to impart this divine art form and instill cultural values in its students, training them to a high standard of dedication. Under her tutelage, many students have successfully achieved their Post Diploma, Diploma, and Arangetrams. Sujatha Sathees has also played a significant role in inspiring and shaping numerous teachers who are now actively teaching Bharatanatyam across the UK. Her students regularly perform at various locations and venues throughout the UK. As an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, Sujatha Sathees has performed in and choreographed several dance dramas, including Ramayanam, Ganappalm, Krishnaleelai, Thirumurai, and Thasavatharam, captivating audiences in the UK. Beyond her performances and teaching, she has served as a dance examiner, traveling to many countries. She is also involved in charitable activities, using her passion for dance to help those in need.
