Sujavanthy Srinivasan is the Founder/Director of Dallas Natyalaya Academy of Dance. She started her training in Bharatanatyam at the age of 5 and completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram, receiving an award from “Padma Shri Padma Subramanian”. She has performed and received many awards in various sabhas in India including Music Academy, Brahma Ganna Sabha, Naradha Ganna Sabha, Rani Sethai Hall, Lady Andal School, Mylapore Fine Arts, and Shree Parthasarathy Swami Sabha. She has performed in front of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at “ValluvarKottam” and participated in TV shows like “ThillanaThillana” (Sun TV), “Vivel Miss Chennai 2009” (Vijay TV, crowned “Miss Talent”), and “Thaka Dhimmi Tha” (JAYA TV). She has performed Indian Folk dance in “Doordarshan” India and internationally for “Natya Sangam” and “Tamil Sangam” across the United States. She has choreographed and performed at the Atlantic City Library International Night series concert and at TIMES SQUARE New York Concert for Diwali celebrations. She has also performed and choreographed for various Temples in New Jersey. Over the past 22 years, she has demonstrated great dedication to Bharatanatyam through performances, choreography, and teaching in different dance schools in New Jersey, having taught over 110 students. She has also judged performances worldwide and writes blogs about the art form.
