Sunanda Prashanth is a Kuchipudi dancer, teacher, and the founder of Spandana Kuchipudi Dance Academy in Bangalore, India. Born on June 16, 1989, she was introduced to Kuchipudi at the age of six by her grandfather, Sri Pasumarthy Krishnamurthy, a respected figure from traditional Kuchipudi families and a cine dance director. She received professional training in Kuchipudi from the age of nine under the tutelage of Sri Pasumarthy Vithal and Smt. Bharathi for ten years, under whose guidance she also gave her first stage performance. Prashanth further honed her skills under Dr. K. Uma Rama Rao in Hyderabad, focusing on the expressive aspect of Abhinayam. She is currently undergoing dance and academic training under Smt. Sudha Sridhar of Nartana Academy in Bangalore. She holds an MSc in International Business from the University of Leeds, UK. Throughout her career, Sunanda Prashanth has performed in various dance dramas and ballets, including Srinivasa Kalayanam, Lakshmi Udbhavam, Vyuha Lakshmi, and Palliki Seva Prabhandam. She established Spandana Kuchipudi Dance Academy with the aim of preserving, promoting, and imparting the tradition of this classical dance form to the younger generation at both national and international levels.
