Supratim Talukder is an Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam, based in Kolkata, West Bengal. He holds a post-graduate degree in Bharatanatyam from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. His early training was nurtured by Guru Sri Avoy Paul, and he is currently under the guidance of Shrimati Sujatha Ramalingam. Talukder has also received training in creative dance, Rabindranritya, and Kalaripayattu. With over fifteen years of dancing experience, Supratim Talukder is recognized for his dynamic and expressive performances, often incorporating experimental and innovative approaches that blend traditional Bharatanatyam with spirituality and contemporary ideas. He has performed extensively across India and internationally, with notable performances for the Governor of Jharkhand and a Japanese conglomerate. In 2019, his interpretation of Sri Vaibhav Arekar's Ardhanarishvara at the Uday Shankar Dance Festival received critical acclaim. His performances have also been featured on various television channels. He is pioneering a project to portray Biblical creation mythology through Bharatanatyam. As a dedicated teacher, Supratim Talukder offers both online and offline classes, imparting knowledge in Bharatanatyam, Rabindra Nritya, and Yoga. He tutors young Bharatanatyam aspirants, whom he affectionately calls “dance buddies”. He is also an advocate for dance therapy, focusing on the positive impacts of dance on well-being.
