Surajit Som is an Odissi dancer and a dynamic young artiste based in Bangalore, India, who has dedicated his life to the art form. He is a senior student of renowned Odissi exponent Sharmila Mukerjee, performing her choreographies. Surajit Som is actively involved in teaching Odissi and instructs students at the Sanjali Centre for Odissi Dance. His performances include an Odissi Recital curated by ICCR Bangalore and participation in the International Odissi Dance Festival in 2023, where he performed a Pallavi in Raag Bihag with Srijita Sanyal. He is recognized for his contributions as both a performer and a teacher in the Odissi classical dance tradition. His work includes practicing and teaching rhythmic compositions like Arasas in Tribhangi to students.
