Suraksha Kodgi is an emerging Indian classical dancer, Carnatic vocalist, and Western violinist. Her artistic journey in Bharatanatyam commenced at the age of three, with formal training beginning at age five under the tutelage of Guru Kripa Baskaran at the Natyarpana Dance Company. She successfully completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram on August 13, 2022, at the Saber Center for the Performing Arts. Beyond dance, Suraksha is a trained Carnatic singer, having studied under Guru Smt. Srividya Yagnaraman, and made her Carnatic Music Concert debut, known as "Sangeetha Poorva Peetika," on December 10, 2022. She is also an accomplished Western violinist, having been a member of the Senior Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra at the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO). Suraksha has performed in over 40 events across the United States and India. She contributes to the next generation of dancers as a part-time faculty member at Natyarpana Dance Company, where she also continues her advanced training with her guru. She adeptly balances her rigorous artistic pursuits with her academic path as a pre-med student.
