Taiis Pascal-Charles is an accomplished Odissi dancer, choreographer, and institution head based in New York City. She began her training in Odissi at the age of 11 under Deva Deva Jagatpate. For eleven years, as of 2010, she was under the guidance of Guru Durga Charan Ranbir. Her current mentors include Smt Bani Ray, Smt. Sujata Mohapatra, and Smt. Leena Mohanty. Pascal-Charles has performed with notable companies such as Jaan Freeman Repertoire and Rajika Puri & Dancers. She is a co-founder and director of the Trinayan Collective, where her re-staged choreography has received positive reviews from publications like Dance Magazine and the Village Voice. Deborah Jowitt of the Village Voice has described her dancing as "strong and beautiful." Additionally, Taiis Pascal-Charles serves as the Director of Swaha, further contributing to the propagation and teaching of Odissi dance.
