Tandra Chakraborty Sanyal is an Indian classical dancer and teacher, primarily known for her expertise in Kathak. Her extensive training in dance spans over 16 years, during which she has also mastered Rabindra Nritya, Contemporary Dances, and Folk Dances. Sanyal received her foundational Kathak training from Smt. Shankari Roy Chowdhury, a significant influence on her artistic journey. She further enriched her understanding and technique by attending workshops led by the revered Kathak maestro, Birju Maharaj ji, an experience she considers highly fortunate. This comprehensive training has equipped her with a wide range of skills, enabling her to perform across various dance genres. Throughout her career, Tandra Sanyal has garnered considerable experience as a professional dancer, gracing numerous national and international stages. Her performances are a testament to her dedication and artistry, showcasing the intricate beauty of Kathak and other dance forms. Beyond her performing career, Sanyal is deeply committed to dance education. She is the visionary founder and director of 'TAAL-O-NRITYA', a Kathak dance school located in Zurich, Switzerland. This academy serves as a vital center for Indian classical dance, offering weekly classes to both children and adults.
