Therma Katticaran is a distinguished Indian classical dancer and the Artistic Director of Tanishka, Temple of Indian Classical Dances, based in Melbourne, Australia. With over thirty years of dedicated training and practice, she has mastered several Indian classical dance forms, including the Kalakshetra bani of Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathak, Kathakali, and Mayuranrittam, trained in Gurukulam Samprithayam. Her extensive training includes tutelage under acclaimed Gurus such as Natyacharya Professor Smt. Kalakshetra Vilasini, Sri. Kalamandalam Gopinath, Smt. Sunitha Satheesh & Smt. Shailaja Sreekumar, Late. Smt. Kamala Rani Athae from Kalakshetra, Smt. Tara Rajkumar OAM, Smt. Pali Chandra, Smt. Rajashree Behera, Sri Vinaya Chandran, Sri. K.R.Kurup, Kalasree Dr. Sunanda Nair, Smt Geetha Padmakumar, and Kalamandalam (RLV) Radhakrishnan. She also attended workshops and received guidance from eminent Gurus like Late. She was also a winner in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi categories at the National Youth Festival, representing Kerala state. Driven by her passion for dance and a commitment to imparting India's artistic traditions, she founded Tanishka in 2012. Through Tanishka, she aims to preserve the rich heritage of Indian classical dance and nurture cultural expression and spiritual growth in future generations. Her artistic journey is marked by innovative choreographies that blend tradition with contemporary sensibilities, resulting in transformative performances. She has evolved from a passionate dancer to an Acharya, overseeing the successful arangettams of her senior students. In addition to her dance career, Therma Katticaran is professionally trained as a Biotechnology Engineer and works as a Clinical Data Manager in the Research & Healthcare Industry in Australia.
