Tushar Kalia is an Indian choreographer, dancer, and actor, renowned for his work in Bollywood and popular dance reality shows. Born on March 7, 1986, in Chandigarh, India, Kalia specializes in the Indian classical dance forms of Mayurbhanj Chhau and Kalari, alongside contemporary dance. He began his dance career under the tutelage of Shri Santosh Nair, the creative director of 'Sadhya Unit of Performing Arts' in New Delhi, where he trained for eight years and became a senior member, choreographer, and principal male dancer. Kalia also received training in aerial technique dancing from Canadian choreographer Brandy Leary. Kalia gained widespread recognition through his participation as a choreographer in dance reality shows like "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6" (2013) and "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7" (2014). He also served as the stage director for "India's Got Talent" in its 6th and 7th seasons (2015-2016). His Bollywood career took off with his debut as a choreographer in Karan Johar's film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" (2016). Since then, he has choreographed for numerous films, including "Half Girlfriend," "War," "The Zoya Factor," "Junglee," "Ok Jaanu," "Hate Story 4," and "Dhadak". He has also been a judge on the dance reality show "Dance Deewane". In 2022, Kalia won "Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 12". His contributions to choreography have been recognized with a Screen Award for Best Choreography in 2019 and an IIFA Award for Best Choreography in 2020 for his work in the film "War".
