Ursula Hirt began her journey in Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance form, in 1986, commencing her training under the esteemed guidance of Vijaya Rao at the Nateschwara Akademie. Her commitment to dance has been a profound aspect of her life, maintained alongside a demanding career in public relations. During her foundational years in Bharatanatyam, Hirt enriched her understanding of Indian culture and philosophy by participating in two study tours to India, meticulously organized by her teacher. After a period of intermittent study, she formally completed her basic dance education in 2008, marking this significant milestone with her Ranga Pravesha, or stage debut. Since her debut, Ursula Hirt has been an integral and continuous member of the Nateschwara Dance Company, a position she has held since 2008. Her tenure with the company has seen her participate in a multitude of performances, showcasing her developed artistry. Notable among these appearances are her contributions to the 30-years-jubilee program titled "Jaya Ganesha" and the production "Om Sharavanabhava," the latter of which was choreographed by the renowned Pathagudi S. Ramaswamy. Ursula Hirt is recognized for having internalized Indian dance with remarkable sincerity and sustained dedication. Her artistic proficiency is evident in the assuredness of her movements and the distinct clarity of her performances. She consistently engages in regular coaching and maintains a rigorous practice regimen, which has fostered her growth into a mature and accomplished dancer. Her teacher, Vijaya Rao, has expressed that Hirt's profound love for Indian dance, her years of unwavering dedication, and her infectious enthusiasm serve as a daily source of motivation. Beyond her active role as a dance troupe member, Ursula Hirt continues to pursue advanced studies in Bharatanatyam at the Nateschwara Academy, demonstrating an enduring passion for the classical art form.
