Uttara Bhave is a dedicated Kathak dancer, teacher, and choreographer, and the Founder and Artistic Director of Nrityanaad Academy of Kathak. She began her Kathak training under the tutelage of the late Guru Mrs. Asha Joglekar and continued her studies with Guru Mrs. Maneesha Sathe. Bhave completed her Advance Diploma in Kathak from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. She has been teaching Kathak in Northern Virginia, USA, since 2006. Her academy, Nrityanaad Academy of Kathak, is affiliated with Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune and offers certificate courses in Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Music, and Tabla. The academy has been instrumental in creating a community of trained performers in the Reston area, conducting classes for students of all ages and holding annual performances. In addition to her dance endeavors, Uttara Bhave also holds a master's degree in Information Systems.
