Valeria Vespaziani is an Italian practitioner and teacher of Indian classical dance forms, primarily Bharatanatyam and Kathak. She initially trained in Western classical and modern dance before discovering Indian classical dance in 2005, which she describes as "love at first sight". From that moment, she dedicated herself to this discipline. Her primary focus is Bharatanatyam, an ancient dance form originating from the temples of Tamil Nadu in South India, which she emphasizes has an inseparable connection with the sacred and narrative storytelling. Around 2015, she also began studying Kathak, the classical dance style of North India. Valeria Vespaziani teaches Bharatanatyam at the Nirmal Arts Academy, an institution based in Italy that offers various online and live courses in music, theatre, dance, and visual arts. The academy's registered office is in Piacenza, Italy. She believes in the growing sensitivity of the Western public towards artistic forms from other cultures and traditions.
