Vanitha Veeravalli is a prominent Indian classical dance figure, recognized as a dance artist, choreographer, and teacher of Bharatanatyam. She is the esteemed Founder and Artistic Director of Bharatam Academy of Dance Arts, a premier institution located in Naperville, Illinois, dedicated to the nurturing and propagation of Bharatanatyam. With over three decades of experience in both performance and teaching, Veeravalli has significantly contributed to the art form. Her dedication to teaching Bharatanatyam extends beyond mere instruction, aiming to instill a lifelong sense of joy for the art in her students. Under her guidance, Bharatam Academy of Dance Arts actively educates the community through structured classes, public performances, and outreach programs, serving as cultural ambassadors. Veeravalli's contributions have earned her notable accolades, including honor grants from the Government of Tamil Nadu, India, and multiple Master Artiste Awards from the State of Illinois. She is also a recipient of the 'Acharya Kala Vipanchee' award for excellence in arts education, presented by the renowned artiste Padmavibhushan Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna and Guru Kalaimamani Dr. Saraswati, Director, Vipanchee, Chennai. Her teaching legacy includes her daughter, Sutikshna Veeravalli, who is a Bharatanatyam dancer and Carnatic vocalist, having performed her arangetram in 2009 after more than a decade of training under her mother.
