Vashvi Thaker is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, teacher, and performer, primarily recognized for her expertise in Bharatanatyam. She also imparts training in Indian folk and Bollywood dance styles, showcasing her versatility. Hailing from Vadodara, Gujarat, India, her profound connection with dance began at the tender age of six. Under the dedicated guidance of her Guru, Smt. Rema Shrikant, Vashvi underwent rigorous training in Bharatanatyam for thirteen years, establishing a strong and authentic foundation in this intricate classical art form. Her academic pursuits complemented her artistic journey, as she earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Performing Arts (Bharatanatyam). Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is certified in a Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC). Thaker's exceptional talent and commitment were acknowledged through significant accolades early in her career. She was awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, to further her Bharatanatyam studies under her guru for two years. Furthermore, she received the esteemed "Kal ke Kalakar" award from the Sangeet Natak Academy, a testament to her emerging artistry. Before embarking on her international career, Vashvi Thaker was actively involved in the Indian dance scene. She served as a dance and yoga teacher at a C.B.S.E. school and held a position as a lecturer in Bharatanatyam. Her performances graced prominent national platforms, including the Sangeet Natak Academy, the Modhera festival, Vibrant Gujarat, and the Asian Games, where she notably performed as part of Hema Malini's group. In 2011, Thaker relocated to Paris, France, marking a new chapter in her career. There, she broadened her teaching repertoire to include popular Bollywood dance classes and workshops. A notable highlight of her time in Paris was a demonstration of her unique Yoga Dance style on France 5, a national television channel, introducing Indian dance forms to a wider European audience. Subsequently, she moved to Munich, Germany, where she continues to thrive as a dance teacher and performer. In Munich, she is associated with the Natyadhara Dance Academy, a respected Indian dance school led by Chandra Devi, and also with TSV. Vashvi Thaker is deeply passionate about her art and teaching, expressing aspirations to choreograph and produce dance productions that explore and present the diverse emotions inherent in Indian dance.
