Vidha Lal is an acclaimed Kathak exponent of the Jaipur Gharana, known for her powerful expressions, rhythmic precision, and graceful storytelling. She began her Kathak training at the National Institute of Kathak (Kathak Kendra, New Delhi) in 1989, at the age of 7.5, under the tutelage of Smt. Geetanjali Lal. She further pursued higher training through the guru-shishya parampara with Geetanjali Lal. Vidha Lal is a Gold medalist in MA (Kathak) from Khairagarh University (also referred to as Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya). Throughout her career, Vidha Lal has performed extensively in major dance festivals both in India and internationally, including the London Olympics Cultural Festival, Sydney Dance Festival, Milap Fest Liverpool UK, Singapore Dance Festival at Esplanade, Khajuraho Dance Festival, and Nishagandhi Dance Festival. She is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and an 'A' graded artist from Delhi Doordarshan. In 2011, Vidha Lal achieved a Guinness World Record for executing 103 Kathak spins in one minute. She is the founder director of Kathak Resonance Dance Academy based in New Delhi, where she trains students in Kathak. Additionally, she serves as an Executive Board Member of the General Council of Sangeet Natak Akademi and an Advisory Member of Kathak Kendra, New Delhi.
