🪔 About

Vidhi Bansal is an emerging Bharatanatyam dancer who made her formal debut with her Arangetram on July 18, 2026, at the Chinmaya Mission Auditorium in New Delhi, India. She has undergone rigorous training in Bharatanatyam since childhood, for a period of eleven years, under the esteemed guidance of Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Guru Geeta Chandran. Guru Geeta Chandran is the founder-president of NATYA VRIKSHA, an institution known for upholding the Guru-Shishya tradition and providing personalized Bharatanatyam instruction rooted in the Gurukul system, incorporating live music into training, and promoting a holistic understanding of the classical dance form within the broader framework of the Indian Knowledge System. Vidhi Bansal's Arangetram performance showcased her technical precision, expressive abhinaya, and poised stage presence, earning sustained applause and a standing ovation from the audience. The recital followed the traditional Bharatanatyam margam, including pieces such as Pushpanjali, Alarippu, Jatiswaram (Ragamalika), a Varnam in Nattaikuranji Ragam, the Surdas Padam “Sundar Shyam,” Tillana in Ragam Brindavani, and concluded with Mangalam. The performance was enhanced by a live orchestra featuring Guru Geeta Chandran on nattuvangam, Vidwan Sreeraag Nair (vocal), Vidwan Vignesh Jayaraman (mridangam), Vidwan Varun Rajasekharan (ghatam), and Vidwan V.S.K. Annadorai (violin). This debut marks a significant milestone in Vidhi Bansal's artistic journey, signifying the culmination of one phase of learning and the beginning of a lifelong exploration in dance. Guru Geeta Chandran expressed confidence that Vidhi will continue to uphold the values and traditions of Bharatanatyam with sincerity and excellence. A recent graduate of Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram, Vidhi Bansal is set to commence her undergraduate studies at FLAME University in Pune, where she intends to continue fostering the artistic values and discipline cultivated through her extensive mentorship.
