🪔 About

Vidya Venkateswaran is an accomplished Indian classical dancer and a dedicated teacher, primarily known for her expertise in Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. She is the founder and guru of Natanapriya Academy of Dance and Music (NADAM), an institution established on July 3, 2015, on Gurupurnima day, in Navi Mumbai, India. The academy, which is ISO 9001:2015 accredited and affiliated with Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, aims to promote Indian classical dance and music by training aspiring artists. Under her guidance, NADAM offers comprehensive training in various Indian classical dance forms, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, and Odissi, alongside Indian Contemporary, Semiclassical, Folk dance, and Lok Nritya. Additionally, the academy provides instruction in diverse music forms such as Carnatic, Hindustani, Semiclassical vocal, Abhang, and Bhajan, as well as instrumental music like Flute, Tabla, Harmonium, Keyboard, Mridangam, Veena, and Sitar. Vidya Venkateswaran's students regularly participate in annual dance and music ensembles, such as "Kalanadam," where her senior disciples have presented performances like "Krishna Stuti." Through her academy, she plays a significant role in imparting traditional Indian performing arts and preparing students for government-recognized examinations in music and dance.
