Vrunda Upadhyay is an internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, singer, choreographer, and Nattuvanar, with over two decades of training and performance experience. She holds a Master of Arts in Bharatanatyam from Kalidas Nagpur University. Upadhyay commenced her journey in dance and music at the tender age of five. She is recognized for blending deep classical knowledge with creative expression, making her performances both traditional and contemporary. Vrunda Upadhyay has performed and presented across Canada and internationally, including with the Melbourne award-winning dance production "Temple of Desire" at the Toronto Fringe Festival. Her artistry has been showcased at various major cultural festivals such as the Jamii's Wayo Festival, Toronto Diversity Festival, Taste of India at Nathan Phillips Square, Canada Diwali, Vserve at Celebration Square, Panorama India Festival, Harmony Festival, Ankura Festival, and Baithak programs. As the Founder and Artistic Director of Mudra Traditional Arts Academy, Vrunda Upadhyay has nurtured and mentored students across Canada and India. Her academy is dedicated to teaching Bharatanatyam and Indian classical music, adhering to the Tanjore style, and fostering cross-cultural dialogue. The academy is affiliated with the Tanjore Dance Music and Art Research Centre and the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya for government certifications.
