Zuzanna Kostrzewska is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher based in Poland. Her journey into Indian culture began at the age of 12, sparked by watching Bollywood films, which led to an interest in Indian music and language. She initially encountered dance in high school, learning basic steps, but it was during her first year of Polish philology studies in Krakow that she truly embraced Bharatanatyam through workshops. Kostrzewska was a member of the Mayura group, based in Poznań and Wrocław, where she developed her initial choreographic skills. She is currently a dancer with the Masakali Dance Group and also performs solo at various events. Her training in Bharatanatyam was under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Sailaja, associated with the Saila Sudha Dance Academy. A significant milestone in her career was her Bharatanatyam Arangetram, which took place in 2023. Beyond performing, Zuzanna Kostrzewska is also involved in teaching, organizing Bharatanatyam introductory workshops. She has expressed that Bharatanatyam "chose her" rather than the other way around, highlighting a deep connection to the art form.
