Born Lakshmibai Mohite — Born in Tanjore (Thanjavur).
1880
Married Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III and renamed Chimnabai I — Married on January 6, 1880. Brought a Sadir Attam dance troupe and musicians from Tanjore to Baroda as part of her dowry.
1880-1885
Introduced Bharatanatyam and promoted Carnatic music in Baroda — Instrumental in integrating South Indian performing arts into the Baroda court and establishing the Kalavant Karkhana.
1885
Died — Died on May 7, 1885, from tuberculosis.
1896
Chimnabai Clock Tower built — Built in her memory by Maharaja Sayajirao III.
1897
Marble statue sculpted — A life-size marble statue by Augusto Felici was placed in Nyay Mandir (now in Maharaja Fatehsinh Museum).
2017
Personal veena donated — Her personal Saraswati veena and other musical instruments were donated to the Music Department of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
