1935
Began performing at Annapurna Theatre — Started performing at the Annapurna Theatre in Puri at the age of seven.
1945
Became a star performer — Became a star performer at Annapurna Theatre by the age of 17.
1946
First solo Odissi performance — Performed the first solo Odissi dance on stage, a milestone in the revival of the form.
1947
First woman to perform Gotipua on stage — Became the first woman to perform the traditional Gotipua dance on stage.
1950s
Performed at Republic Day parades — Performed folk dances at Republic Day parades in New Delhi.
1960
Began teaching and nurturing students — Gave up dancing and acting to focus on family and students at home.

Retired from professional dancing — Retired to support her husband's career.

Co-founded Srjan — Co-founded Srjan, a classical dance school in Bhubaneswar, with her husband Kelucharan Mohapatra.
