Journey Timeline
Early childhood
Began dance journey — Started learning dance at the age of five.
1984
Joined Kalakshetra — Began formal training in Bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts in Chennai.
1989
Returned to Assam and resumed Sattriya training — Continued Sattriya training with new gurus and learned the Kamalabari Style.
1989
Founded Pratishruti Nrityashala — Established her dance school in Guwahati, teaching Bharatanatyam.
1990s
Graduated from Kalakshetra — Completed her Bharatanatyam training at Kalakshetra.
1993
Moved from Assam — Left Assam after her marriage and began propagating Sattriya in other cities.
2000
Sattriya recognized as classical dance — Her efforts contributed to Sattriya being recognized as the eighth classical dance form by the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
2004
Concluded joint performances — Performed Sattriya and Bharatanatyam together in lecture-demonstrations until this year.
2008
Founded Pratishruti Foundation — Established her non-profit organization for promoting classical Indian art.
