Began Veena training — Began studying Veena at age five under her grandfather, Karaikudi Sambasiva Iyer.
1958
Continued training — Her guru, Karaikudi Sambasiva Iyer, passed away. She continued learning Carnatic vocal music from Mysore Vasudevachar.
1968
Teaching at Kalakshetra — Was teaching at Kalakshetra when Dr. Pia Srinivasan joined to learn Carnatic music.
1986
Received Sangeet Natak Akademi Award
2008
Passed away — Died on August 15, 2008.
