Journey Timeline
1972
Began Kathak training at Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya — Under the tutelage of Tirath Ram Azadji of the Jaipur gharana.
1979
Entered Kathak Kendra, New Delhi — At the age of fourteen, with a scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resources.
1994
Joined Akademi: South Asian Dance, UK — As the first training officer of Kathak.
1996
Designed the first Kathak syllabus for Akademi: South Asian Dance, UK — Included a detailed manual for teachers.
1990s
Served as Kathak teacher at The Bhavan, London — Active in the late 1990s.
2002
Returned to India and established Aakriti Foundation — Aimed to refashion Kathak pedagogy; foundation initially in Delhi, now in Gurgaon.
2012
Performed at Alliance Francaise, New Delhi — Her institution Akrooti Foundation presented young disciples and her solo under the title Avaahan on May 24, 2012.
