Mrs Sushmitha Parthasarathy, a passionate Bharatanatyam dancer, started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 4 under the tutelage of Prof Dr. K. Kumar (disciple of Uma Rao who was trained by none other than Rukmini Devi Arundel, and a teaching faculty at Kalakshetra Chennai). She had participated in various dance performances and solo presentations across INDIA. After a continuous learning journey and attending many performances under the guidance of her guru, Sushmitha held a certificate of Diploma in Bharatanatyam from Prachin Kala Kendra (chandigarh). In recent times Sushmitha is continuing her solo performances in many places of India and Canada. She has also started dance school Abhinaya Performing Arts Centre in Oakville to spread the tradition of Bharatanatyam dance form. Sushmita Parthasarathy, born and brought up in Mysore (Karnataka) India, has completed schooling and has graduated from Karnataka State open university in Bachelors of commerce and, MBA in Human Resources from Sikkim Manipal University.
