Tirtha Narayana Yati, also known as Narayana Teertha, was a revered 17th-century Telugu sanyasin of the Advaita Vedanta tradition, born as Tallavajjhala Govinda Sastry in Kaza, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. Authored Sri Krishna Leela Tarangini — Composed the Sanskrit opera, a libretto for dance-drama, introducing rhythmic dance syllables (tarangams).
Systematized Kuchipudi — Credited with founding and systematizing the modern version of Kuchipudi with his disciple Siddhendra Yogi.
Resided and performed in Tanjore district — Lived for a while in the Tanjore district and presented his dance-drama in the Tanjore temple, settling in Varahur.
