About
Nrityarpana School for Performing Arts (NSPA) was founded in 2004 by Anupama Mirle. NSPA prepares students for their debut in Bharatnatyam, called Rangapravesh/Arangetram. Anupama Mirle is a highly respected Indian Classical Dance teacher, trained in Bharatnatyam under Dr. Jayashree Rajagopalan and in Odissi under Guru Bansidhar Dwivedi, with an MFA in Bharatanatyam. NSPA has served more than 50,000 people in Greater Cincinnati, launched the ‘World Dance Cincinnati’ platform in 2009, and extended its outreach to Cincinnati Public Schools through the ‘Indian Rhythms’ program in 2014. Mirle is recognized as a Heritage Fellow by the Ohio Arts Council and belongs to the UNESCO Council for International Dance.
