About
Nrithyodaya was founded in 1942 by filmmaker and freedom fighter K. Subrahmanyam as a charitable institution dedicated to providing free training in classical and folk dances to underprivileged children. Under the leadership of his daughter Padma Subrahmanyam, the institution has played a pivotal role in preserving the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam and developed a graded syllabus for Bharata Nrityam.
