Abhirami Shankar is an Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam and a Carnatic vocalist, hailing from a musical family. She began her dance journey at the age of seven. Abhirami has been a disciple of 'Natyacharya' Guru Dr. Naresh Pillai, Artistic Director and Founder of Kalalaya Nrithya Academy, Mumbai, for over 15 years. She is actively performing in both India and the USA. Abhirami Shankar is also a Carnatic vocalist, having been blessed to be born into a family where her mother, Srimati Mala Shankar, is a professional performer, vocalist, and guru in Mumbai. She has performed numerous dance and music concerts in prestigious Sabhas and has been part of many productions by Kalalaya Nrithya Academy. Her performances include venues in Mumbai, Chennai, Guruvayur, Kerala, Natyanjali, ISKCON Temple, and various Ayyappa temples. She also makes sure to perform for charitable organizations annually. In 2015, Abhirami moved to the US for her master's degree, completing it by 2017, and subsequently moved to the Bay Area, California. She works as a software developer at Microsoft, balancing her professional career with her passion for music and dance, performing almost daily. She has performed at the Dattasai Temple California for the Naipunnya Festival organized by Namaha Foundation of the Arts. In the Bay Area, she actively performs for various events and temples, including for Janmashtami at the Hindu Temple and music at the Radha Krishna Temple. Awards & Honours: Natya Mayuri (2021).
