Amritprava Mahanta is an Indian classical dancer and instructor specializing in Kathak and Sattriya dance forms. Based in Guwahati, Assam, she began dancing at the age of four. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and has received her training in Indian classical dances, specifically Kathak and Sattriya, from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith and Sangeet Satra, respectively. Mahanta is a dance instructor at Barnali Dance Academy, which is described as one of Assam's oldest classical and creative dance institutes. She has extensive experience as a dance teacher and has conducted several dance workshops. Amritprava Mahanta is recognized for her patient and methodical teaching approach. She has performed Kathak, including a piece mixed with Bhupendra Sangeet. She is also involved in choreographing Assamese dance performances with Barnali Dance Academy.
