Meghranjani Medhi is an accomplished Indian Kathak dancer and actress hailing from Assam. Born to renowned Kathak exponent Marami Medhi and celebrated vocalist, composer, and music director Joy Prakash Medhi, she began her Kathak training at the tender age of three under her mother's tutelage. Her extensive training includes guidance from eminent Kathak gurus such as Pandit Birju Maharaj of the Lucknow gharana and Pandit Rajendra Gangani of the Jaipur gharana. Meghranjani holds a Nritya Nipun degree in Kathak from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow, which she completed in 2009, and a master's degree in Kathak dance from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya under Khairagarh University. Demonstrating her versatility, she also earned a Nritya Nipun degree in Sattriya dance from Sangeet Satra Pariksha Parishad, Assam, in 2017. Meghranjani Medhi has established herself as a prominent performer, presenting solo Kathak recitals at prestigious national and international events, including the Khajuraho Dance Festival (2014), Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (2015), and the Fleck Dance Theatre in Toronto (2011). She was empanelled as an artist for Kathak by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in 2012, leading to international tours in countries like Egypt, Israel, Palestine, and the UAE. Alongside her mother, Meghranjani co-runs the dance institution Sur Sangam in Guwahati, where they actively promote Kathak in the North-East. Beyond dance, she is also a recognized actress in the Assamese film industry, having starred in films like 'Anuradha' and several video films and television serials.
