Dr. Anjana Moyee Saikia is a celebrated Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and teacher, renowned for her contributions to Odissi and Sattriya dance forms. She began her Odissi training under Gorima Hazarika in Guwahati and later received advanced guidance from legendary gurus such as Padmabibhusan Kelucharan Mohapatra and Protima Gauri Bedi. She also refined her Odissi under the tutelage of Sujata Mohapatra, Rina Jana, and Pabitra Kumar Pradhan of Bhubaneswar. For Sattriya, she trained under Padmashree Guru Borbayan Ghanakanta Borah, a Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee. Anjana Moyee Saikia has performed extensively both nationally and internationally, touring parts of the USA, Denmark, Portugal, and Canada. She is an empanelled Odissi soloist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, and a graded artiste in both Odissi and Sattriya dance from Doordarshan. Her choreographic works include successful stage productions like 'Chitrangada', 'Shyama', and 'Chand-Rupa'. In 2012, she founded Darpan Dance Akademi in Guwahati, where she imparts training in Odissi and Sattriya, and focuses on innovative choreographic creations. Beyond her artistic career, Dr. Saikia holds an M.Sc. and PhD in Statistics and serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine at Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati.
