🪔 About
Aruna Rangasamy is an Indian classical dance figure specializing in Bharatanatyam and Mohini Attam. Hailing from a family of art connoisseurs, she developed a natural inclination for Bharatanatyam. Aruna received her foundational training under her mother and guru, Dr. Kalarani Rangaswamy, following the Vazhuvoor parampara. She further honed her skills in Bharatanatyam under Smt. Ushantini Sri Padmanabhan of Natyalaya School of Dance and had the opportunity to learn Mohini Attam from the well-known artiste, Smt. Tara Rajkumar OAM. Aruna also underwent formal Nattuvangam training under Jagadeesh Janarthanan and Naavarasi Sadhana Training under Abinaya Guru Venu G. Aruna Rangasamy is an ardent devotee of Bhagawan Ramana Maharshi and actively participates in the cultural engagements of Ramana Ashram, strongly believing in the process of self-enquiry and acceptance. She is currently based in Melbourne, Australia, where she established Ramana Natyalaya. This institute imparts quality training in Bharatanatyam to young students and adults, focusing on excellence in techniques-based dance training and building a strong core dance foundation. Ramana Natyalaya offers classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students, starting from age 5, and includes both theoretical and practical lessons. The school regularly presents "Nrithyamala," an annual stage performance, and provides students with opportunities to perform in various cultural events in Melbourne. Aruna has performed at several prestigious venues in Melbourne.
