Hailing from a family of art connoisseurs, Aruna had a natural inclination for Bharatanatyam. She underwent training under her mother and guru, Dr. Kalarani Rangaswamy, in Vazhuvoor parampara. Aruna is an ardent devotee of Bhagawan Ramana Maharshi and is a part of the cultural engagements of Ramana Ashram and strongly believes in the process of self-enquiry and acceptance.Aruna is currently based in Melbourne and has established the institute, Ramana Natyalaya, which imparts quality training in Bharatanatyam to young students and adults. She has performed at several prestigious venues in Melbourne and has had an opportunity to learn Mohini Attam under well-known artiste, Smt. Tara Rajkumar OAM of Natyalaya Sudha and finetuned her skills in Bharatanatyam under Smt. Ushantini Sri Padmanabhan of Natyalaya School of dance. Aruna had her formal Nattuvangam training under Jagadeesh Janarthanan and Also have undergone Naavarasi Sadhana Training under the most reputed Abinaya Guru Venu G.Aruna intends to bring out the best of this wholistic artform before the multicultural community of Melbourne.
