Bhavya Kumaran is a talented Bharatanatyam dancer known for her strong training and vibrant performances. Based in Chicago, USA, she is the daughter and disciple of Guru Smt. Sowmya Kumaran, who directs the Nrithya Sangeeth school of dance. Bhavya also continues her advanced training under Smt. Lalan Anant. Her lineage in the arts extends to her grandfather, veteran Tamil theatre actor 'Kathadi' Ramamurthy. Bhavya made her arangetram (debut performance) at the age of 13 on July 9, 2011, in Chennai, India, receiving praise for her command over movements, footwork, and abhinaya. Critics have noted her rock-solid training, youthful exuberance, and a balance of vivacity and poise in her presentations. She has performed at prestigious venues and events, including the 3rd Annual Music & Dance Festival in Naperville, Illinois, presented by ICARNATIC in 2016, and under the aegis of Kartik Fine Arts in Chennai in 2017. More recently, she performed Bharatanatyam as part of the HCL Concerts series at The Music Academy Madras in July 2023.
