Bindu Juneja is a renowned Odissi dancer from India, celebrated for her profound understanding of Indian art's philosophy and aesthetics, which is reflected in her performances. Her journey in classical dance began at the age of seven with Bharatanatyam training at the Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in Lucknow. Drawn to the lyrical mysticism and fluidity of Odissi, she later pursued this form, receiving extensive training from eminent exponent Madhavi Mudgal at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in New Delhi. Juneja also had the privilege of close guidance from the grand maestro of Odissi, Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra, which allowed her to imbibe deeper nuances of the art form. An "A" grade artiste of Doordarshan and an empanelled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Bindu Juneja has performed extensively both nationally and internationally. Her international tours include performances in the USA for the Festival of India in 1986, as well as in Mexico, the Slovak Republic, Sweden, Hungary, Vienna, Germany, France, Holland, Spain, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. She has also graced prestigious festivals within India, including the Khajuraho Festival and the IIC Experience in 2009, and performed at significant venues such as Rashtrapati Bhavan for US President Obama and the temple of Maheshwar. Juneja's artistic evolution includes incorporating elements from Kathakali, particularly for enhancing facial expressions and 'abhinaya,' which has enriched her choreographic vocabulary and allowed her to create an eclectic body language. Bindu Juneja is also a dedicated teacher, running her own dance academy named 'Parn' in Bhopal, where she imparts her knowledge of Odissi to students. She has been a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship from the Department of Culture, Government of India, and also received a production grant for her thematic presentation titled “Sakshatkar Unravelling the True Nature of Lord Jagannath.” Awards & Honours: Junior Research Fellowship, Production Grant for 'Sakshatkar Unravelling the True Nature of Lord Jagannath'.
