Deepa Biswokarma is an Odissi dancer and instructor based in Berkeley, California, USA. Born in Nepal, she moved to Berkeley as an infant and commenced her Odissi training at Jyoti Kala Mandir at the age of four. She completed her Ranga Puja, a traditional debut performance, in 2016. Biswokarma is currently a lead dancer and instructor at Jyoti Kala Mandir. She was trained under Guru Jyoti Rout. Her performance experience includes various venues across the Bay Area, and she had her first solo performance in Kathmandu, Nepal. Biswokarma also participated in the International Odissi festival in Bhubaneshwar in 2014 and has won several dance competitions in the Bay Area. She is recognized for her grace, agility, and technique, embodying the meticulous attention to detail characteristic of her guru's training, while also developing a unique style and devotion to Odissi. In addition to her dance career, she holds a B.A. in Psychology and works as a Behavioral Therapist.
