Divya Choodamani is an Indian classical Kuchipudi dancer, recognized for her performances and training. She is a product of the esteemed Kuchipudi Kalakshetra, founded by the maestro Vempati Chinna Satyam. Her training under such a renowned institution has equipped her with a strong foundation in the Kuchipudi style. Divya Choodamani has showcased her talent in various performances, including a notable recital at Kalabharati Visakhapatnam. During her performances, she has demonstrated a commendable ability to express varied rasa bhavas, particularly excelling in bhakthi (devotion) and shringara (romantic) rasas. Her expressive glances are a key aspect of her artistry, effectively conveying the subtle lyrical shades of the compositions she performs. She is adept at bringing out the nuances of maestro Vempati Chinna Satyam's choreography through her expressive abilities and precise footwork. Her repertoire includes diverse pieces such as an invocatory Gajavadana of Purandara Das in raga Hamsadwani, a portrayal of Goddess Lalithaambika, and Chandrasekhara, a composition by Muthuswamy Dikshitar. She has also performed Narayana Theertha's tarangam Krishnam Kalaya Sakhi Sundaram with charm and panache, and the lively javali Enthati Kuluke in raga Kalyani, highlighting her prowess in depicting romantic shades. Additionally, her rendition of Sancharadhara, an Ashtapadi of Jayadev, showcased her impeccable abhinaya, exploring the emotive mindscape of 'Virahothkantitha Nayaki' pining for her Lord.
