🪔 About

Divya Yeluri is an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer, instructor, and the founder of the Nritya Madhavi School of Dance, based in Edison, New Jersey, USA. Her extensive training in Indian classical dance began at a tender age, starting with Bharatanatyam in the Varugur style under Srimati Padma, a direct disciple of Sri Ramaya Pillai, and performing her first solo recital at five. She later embraced Kuchipudi, becoming a senior disciple of the legendary Padma Bhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam and also receiving tutelage from Kalarathna Srimati A.B. Bala Kondalarao. Divya Yeluri has garnered significant recognition both in India and internationally. She represented India at the Festival of India in Germany in 1992 and holds the distinction of being the first Kuchipudi dancer to perform in Brazil in 2015. Her career in the United States began with teaching Kuchipudi in 1998, leading to the establishment of the Nritya Madhavi School of Dance in February 2003. Under her guidance, the school has flourished, expanding to include a branch in Connecticut and a new facility in Edison by 2014. Divya and her students had the privilege of performing at the White House in 2015 in observance of Asian American Heritage Month. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Divya Yeluri holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Gita India and a Master's in Computer Science from the USA, and works as a computer programmer. She is dedicated to popularizing Kuchipudi and nurturing the next generation of dancers, regularly conducting workshops and performances. Awards & Honours: Nritya Sevamani, Kala Gangotri (2019).
