Eva Berki is a Hungarian Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and co-founder of Anjali Dance, a group based in Hungary dedicated to Indian classical dance. Her journey in Bharatanatyam began at the age of fifteen, studying with Ms. Tímea Kiss in Szeged, Hungary, from 2003 to 2009. She continued her training with Ms. Ildikó Gulyás in Budapest from 2009 to 2010 and again from 2011 to 2012. Berki received an ICCR scholarship, enabling her to study under the tutelage of senior dancer Smt. Meenakshi Chitharanjan in Chennai, India, from 2010 to 2011. She further pursued a three-week course with Smt. Chitharanjan in 2012. Eva Berki has also participated in intensive workshops with several notable artists, including Smt. Radhika Shetty (2018, 2019, 2024), Ms. Kassiyet Adilkhankyzy (2019, 2020), Smt. Rukmini Vijayakumar, Smt. Priyadrashini Govind, and Smt. Rama Vaidyanathan (2019), and Smt. Rukmini Vijayakumar again in 2022 and 2023. In March 2011, Berki performed at the Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha in Chennai, India, alongside Mariann Adasz and Natalia Butyrskaya, as a disciple of Meenakshi Chitharanjan. As a co-founder and leader of Anjali Dance, she actively promotes and teaches Indian classical dance in Hungary. Beyond her dance career, Eva Berki is also an EU interpreter and an English language translator for Danvantara Kiadó.
