🪔 About

Hagoromo Takimoto is a Kathak dancer and the youngest daughter of the acclaimed Japanese taiko drum artist, Yasuhito Takimoto. She has been immersed in the worlds of taiko and Kathak since childhood, witnessing the artistic dialogue between her father and renowned Kathak guru Maneesha Sathe, which has spanned over three decades. Hagoromo Takimoto has received her Kathak training from Guru Maneesha Sathe at Maneesha Nrityalaya in Pune, India. Takimoto has performed alongside her father and teacher for many years, contributing to the unique "taiko-kathak" fusion performances that blend Japanese taiko drumming with Indian classical Kathak dance. This fusion has been a significant aspect of her artistic journey, with events like "Divine Confluence" showcasing this blend of Indian and Asian traditional art forms. She is also an emerging solo performer, with an upcoming solo performance scheduled for 'Divine Confluence 2025' at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch in Pune, where she will present the distinctive taiko playing style developed by her father. The Maneesha Nrityalaya, founded by her guru Maneesha Sathe in 1975, aims to train Kathak students through the guru-shishya tradition. Hagoromo Takimoto is considered a dear student and like family to Maneesha Sathe. Her involvement in the golden jubilee celebrations of Maneesha Nrityalaya highlights her role in carrying forward the Kathak legacy.
