🪔 About

Kasi Aysola is a prominent Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and nattuvanar based in the United States, recognized for his contributions to Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. He received his foundational training in Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Guru Viji Prakash and Mythili Prakash. Aysola further honed his skills in Kuchipudi, training under the late Guru Vempati Ravi Shankar and subsequently with Yamini Saripalli. Throughout his career, Aysola has collaborated with leading exponents of Bharatanatyam, including Guru C.V. Chandrasekhar, Bragha Bessel, Ajith Bhaskaran Dass, Harikrishna Kalyanasundaram, and Mythili Prakash. He has performed as a soloist across the U.S. and India and toured extensively with the Shakti Dance Company, where his choreographies were featured in numerous productions. In 2014, Kasi Aysola co-founded Prakriti Dance with Madhvi Venkatesh, an innovative professional company based in the United States, where he serves as the Co-Artistic Director. Prakriti Dance utilizes traditional Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi movement vocabularies to explore contemporary themes, human experience, and philosophy, creating bold and original works that have toured nationally and reached over 65 schools across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region. His work has been presented at premier venues such as The Kennedy Center, Jacob's Pillow, and World Music Institute. Aysola is also renowned for his original rhythmic compositions and musical acumen, having accompanied artists like Rama Vaidyanathan, Mythili Prakash, and Janaki Rangarajan as a nattuvanar. Awards & Honours: National YoungArts Foundation Finalist (2010), Apprenticeship Grant, Individual Artists and Scholars Grant.
