Lipsa Dash is an accomplished Odissi dancer hailing from Bhubaneswar, India. She commenced her Odissi training at the tender age of five at the Orissa Dance Academy. By the age of eight, she was formally initiated into dance and became a senior disciple of Guru Pitambar Biswal, under whose tutelage she was nurtured and guided. Her family, including her father Er. Guru Prasad Dash, mother Smt. Saudamini Dash, and sister Ipsa Dash, actively encouraged her artistic pursuits. Within the Odissi repertoire, she has a particular affinity for pallavis and abhinaya pieces. Academically, Lipsa Dash holds a graduate degree in Home Science from Utkal University and is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree. Professionally, she is also continuing her Alankar from Akhil Bharitya Ghandarv Mahabidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. As a seasoned performer, Lipsa Dash has showcased her talent on various television platforms, including Doordarshan (D.D.1 Orissa) and Etv-Oriya. Her extensive performance career spans numerous national and international festivals. Notable appearances include the Puri Beach Festival (1998), Konark Festival (2002), Dhauli Mahostav (2003), Ekamra Nrutya Mahostav (2003), Barabati Nrutyaosaba (2004), Odissi Evening (2004), Kharavela Nrutya Mahostav (2005), Folk Festival Goa (2005), Natraj Mahostav Mysore (2005), Shree Khetra Mahostav Puri (2005), Sharad Mahostav Brindaban (2005), and Vedyavyasa Mahostav Rourkela (2005). She has also performed at a Cultural Evening (VIP Visit) at the Airforce Auditorium-New Delhi (2006), Basanta Utsav Bhubaneswar (2006), Rangoli Bihu Festival Assam (2006), International Museum Day Bhubaneswar (2006), All India International Theatre Festival Cuttack (2006), 3rd International Odissi Festival Bhubaneswar (2006), Bihu Festival Assam (2007), and Kalke kalakar Mumbai (2007). Further, she performed at the 4th International Odissi Dance Festival in 2011 and the International Odissi Dance Festival in Bhubaneswar in 2013. Lipsa Dash is an empanelled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), through which she has represented India in cultural delegations. This includes being sponsored to the 20th Spring Friendship Art Festival in Pyongyang, North Korea, and performing in major cities across the USA and Canada. Her significant contributions to Odissi have been recognized with the Senior National Scholarship from the Human Resource Development Department, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Sringarmani Award from Sur Sringar Sansad.
