Manjula Viswanath is a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and mentor, originally from Chennai and raised in Bangalore, India. Before moving to Australia in 2001, she pursued a career as a professional dancer, model, and actress in India. In 2002, she established the Rasika Dance Academy in Sydney, Australia, which has since trained thousands of students over more than two decades, becoming a prominent institution in the field. Viswanath received her Bharatanatyam training under the legendary Guru Srimati Padmini Ravi in Bangalore. She is recognized for her dedication to the art form and has been acclaimed as "Natish Kishori in Karnataka State". Her talent led to her selection as an international artist by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR). Throughout her career, Manjula Viswanath has performed extensively, with over 1200 performances across India, Australia, America, and the UK, promoting Indian culture and arts on an international scale. She is also a prolific choreographer and director, having staged numerous productions. In April 2022, her Rasika Dance Academy celebrated its 20th anniversary with a significant event featuring a Bharatanatyam Margam and a dance drama titled "Simha The King". Beyond her artistic endeavors, Viswanath is actively involved in community work and, as of September 2024, is a Liberal Party candidate for the NSW Local Government elections in The Hills Shire Council.
