Manomi Tanjana Orthy

Manomi Tanjana Orthy is an established Manipuri dancer and teacher based in Bangladesh. She began her journey in Manipuri dance during her sixth grade, receiving her initial training from the celebrated dancer and choreographer Tamanna Rahman. Orthy considers Tamanna Rahman her inspiration for pursuing dance as a full-time career. She furthered her education by completing both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Manipuri dance from Rabindra Bharati University. Currently, Manomi Tanjana Orthy is actively involved in teaching and performing. She imparts her knowledge of Manipuri dance at several institutions, including Nrityam, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Shopno Bikash Kala Kendra Academy, and Excel Academy. Beyond teaching, Orthy is also a choreographer and director. She has directed dance recitals, such as "Onneshon — An Inward Journey Through Dance," presented by the members of Nartanam Dance Academy at Bangladesh Mohila Samity. Her directorial work has been noted for its thoughtful choreography, music selection, and costumes, effectively communicating emotions and inner experiences through dance. Her guru, Tamanna Rahman, relies on Orthy for various aspects of productions, including choreography, music editing, and technological support, highlighting Orthy's dedication and multifaceted skills in the field. Orthy is actively building her career and is involved in various productions and compositions with her guru.
