Manoranjan Pradhan

Manoranjan Pradhan is recognized as a leading male Odissi dancer and an outstanding talent in the field of Indian classical dance. He received his initial training at the Orissa Dance Academy in India under the tutelage of Guru Gangadhar Pradhan. He further pursued his education, completing a Master's degree in Odissi dance from Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Utkal University. Pradhan also underwent rigorous training with the doyen of Odissi dance, Padma Bibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Throughout his career, Manoranjan Pradhan has performed extensively on stage and television, both in India and internationally. He has mesmerized audiences in countries such as Canada, Mexico, the United States, Germany, Italy, Croatia, and England. Notably, he toured the USA with Ralph Lemon's "Tree," which was the second in the Geography Trilogy series. Pradhan has also dedicated a significant portion of his career to teaching. He has served as a guest lecturer in Odissi dance at Stanford University and has shared his expertise through extensive teaching at the Odissi Dance Academy and the Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar. He was also a resident teacher at the Center for World Music in San Diego, USA. Currently, he holds the position of Principal at the Orissa Dance Academy and is a Guest Lecturer at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. He is also a senior Odissi dance teacher at the Guru Gangadhar Pradhan Foundation in Bhubaneswar. Beyond performing and teaching, Pradhan is also a choreographer, with his dance drama 'Manika Gauduni' receiving significant appreciation. He is married to the accomplished dancer Minati Dasgupta (now Minati Pradhan).
