Niveda Baskaran is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, known for her precise, fluid, and graceful performances. She is a disciple of Guru Sri. Sapna Krishnan, who leads the Lasya School of Dance in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Niveda completed her Arangetram in 2009. Her performances are characterized by a quality of subtlety and heartfelt expression, which has garnered praise from notable figures in the dance community, including renowned dancer and composer Guru Sri. Madurai R. Muralidharan. In 2014, Niveda presented "Nivedhyam," a Bharatanatyam repertoire, at the Rogers Center for the Arts in North Andover. This event was not only a showcase of her spiritual and artistic beauty but also a charitable endeavor, raising over $6,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support a child with cancer. Her repertoire for "Nivedhyam" included an invocation to Devi and a varnam dedicated to Lord Nataraja, demonstrating her strong abhinaya as she transitioned seamlessly between different characters and emotions.
